·         The range of information sources will be gradually extended to English and other commonly used languages;

·         The extracted information will be analyzed, matched through keywords and grouped in terms of background knowledge, professional comments for reference and practical tips in daily life. This re-organised information will be performed in the form of different bulletin templates to make it more user-friendly;

·         A serial of Apps will be developed to recommend the selected meaningful information about food safety for E-mail subscription, intelligent mobile phone, personal computer plug-in and so on.
 Milestone II (1/3/2012-31/9/2012)
·      Collect the relevant food safety information
·      Identify a list of food safety related keywords
(relevant keywords belonging to different categories as the searching keywords based on their professional knowledge)
·      Generate a list of reliable food safety websites and sources
(the Chinese-language public media, science popularization websites, professional forums, food safety specialist’s twitter and blogger in Great China)

Milestone III (1/10/2013 – 31/3/2013)
·      Develop the food safety database
(Our pre-set keywords combined with the semantic analysis technique will be utilized to extract the rough food safety information from these source sites. The result items will be grouped according to many indexes, such as region, date, food name, issue and toxicity. After data-interpretation, a database will be constructed. The obtained and continuously updated information will be stored into our backstage database in a designed order.)
·          Construct the 1st Hong Kong and Greater China region food safety website
       (According to the origins of food imported, the    
        trading patterns of food industry and the results of risk assessment in Hong Kong, a set of screening mechanisms will be developed and used to extract the information which relate to the health of HK residents. This extracted information will be highlighted and recommended to the audience in a column of the website.)

Milestone IV (1/4/2013-30/6/2013)
l Evaluate the feedbacks from users and guests.
l Modify the features and fix the defects on the website
l Organize technical meetings for introducing the technology transfer arrangement to relevant government departments and general public
